What is the IB Diploma Programme?
The International Baccalaureate® Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education that prepares students, aged 16 to 19, for success at university and life. West Hall High School students have the opportunity to earn both a WHHS diploma and an International Baccalaureate® diploma. Officially recognized by universities around the world.

How teaching and learning is organized in the DP
The DP organizes teaching and learning through six different groups. Students choose a course from each of the six IB groups (listed on the WHHS IB Facts page). For most DP courses, students take written examinations at the end of the DP (in May of their senior year). In many programme areas, students complete externally assessed coursework. Some components of the DP core require students to produce coursework, for example.
IB Diploma students will complete the core components which consist of the Theory of Knowledge course, participate in service learning or CAS, and complete an Extended Essay. Please see the IB Facts Page for more information.
